A few years ago, I never imagined I would become a community champion in sexual and reproductive health, mental health, and gender-based violence. I had the passion, but I didn’t know where to start or who to approach.
Then, I found a team of people who shared the same fire. We were all artists, and together we formed Voice of Dagoretti CBO — a community-based organization using art as a tool for advocacy.
Fast forward 5 years, and here we are. They say most youth-led organizations don’t last, but our story is different. Through our various projects, we’ve reached and impacted over 5,000 young people in Nairobi County.
As we begin this new week, remember this: Don’t be afraid to start, and most importantly, don’t forget to let the world know what you’re doing. Your voice, your passion, and your work matter
