This is the trading of goods with goods or services.

Usually money(currency) is not involved.

Or a farm hand , on a big ranch, will be given free meals, a place to stay and his own small piece of land which he can till 🧑🏾‍🌾🚜🌱 for sustenance. In exchange for his work on the ranch.
