For those joining campus, or those already in campus and don't know where to start their entrepreneurship journey, I have a few pointers for you, some of which I have already tried.
-
You can open a smokie business: You buy at around 24 per piece and you sell at 35, and you complement it with eggs, samosa, and others. Be creative and understand your market dynamics. In a day, expect a profit of between Ksh 500 to Kshs 1500. If you have an enterprising mind, you can open more than 5 in different locations.
-
Juice blending business. You'll need something like 10,000 to start this biz, but you need to have people skills because at first you may not have a shop. You can sell online, in groups, and stuff. Expect between Kshs 800 to Kshs 2000 per day in profits.

You can sell roses ad other romantic flowers to lovers. Just this year alone, I've made more than 40k in profits selling flowers to students and yet I don't have a shop. What you do is you locate a supplier, who are in plenty at Jeevanjee Gardens, and then post in groups that you sell flowers. A bunch (which has 20 flowers) goes for about Ksh 120, and you'll sell each flower at Ksh 50. On a good day, like Valentine's day, you'll make more than 15k in profits. However, you should know that the other days will be slow because your customers will be birthdays and stuff like that.

You can sell ice to local pubs. It's no lie that campus students are heavy alcoholic drinkers, and most local pubs don't have ice. You can buy a cooler and locate a friend with a fridge and sell ice to these students. On Fridays and weekends, expect about Ksh 600 to Ksh 1500 in profits.
These are just but a few which I've tried and I have like 10 more, but I'm already tired of typing. Remember, you don't have to do what has already been done. There is still a very wide gap that need to be filled with our own inventions. Inventions are the fastest lane to the Millionaire status. Have a good day folks!
