PROCEDURE FOR MAKING PLANTAIN CHIPS

1. Wash plantains. Peel them and slice into very thin circles. You can buy a manual slicers in big market like ShopRite.

2. Place all the slices into water until you finish. This way you can maintain their color.

3. Add Salt to l the water and stir carefully.

4. Pour the Plantains into a sieve to drain the water. All the water has to be drained out to leave plantain slices dry before frying them.

5. At this stage, you can add any other additional ingredients as listed above or of your own choice.

6. Add oil into a deep pan and preheat it. Place plantain slices into the hot oil and fry until they turn yellow. Please, Do not overcrowd the pan.

7. Remove excess oil from your chips by placing it on paper towels or newspapers placed in a big sieve.

CHIPS PACKAGING Put quantities of the finished product into transparent air tight nylon bags as seen above or transparent containers according to your target sales. Do market surveys before you start supply to know what's obtainable.
