
If you are a university student, there are different businesses you can start. All these businesses require from as low as 2k to start and commitment:
- Sell second hand hoods- in Nairobi, the wholesale is 100-150 Bob per hood, then sell at 200-250 per hood. You can start with 10 hoods
- T-shirts and tops. Students like t-shirts for male and ladies like tops( with 3k, you can start this business)
- Second hand snickers (wholesale ranges from 200-250 per pair, sell at 350-400, start with 10 pairs)
- Sell boxers and panties( a lot of students really find it difficult to go and buy panties or boxers. Ladies love seamless panties get those ones. A dozen is 1200, sell at 200)
- Sell sour porridge or coffee in the evening, if the campus allows cooking. For porridge, a cup is 20 Bob, for coffee, a tumbler is 10 Bob, tembeza kwa hostel in the evening or early mornings.
- If you have a laptop, do assignments for students at a fee
- Sell necklaces, earrings( they cost cheap - with 1k you are off to go)
From 1-4, they require little capital to start. Tembeza bidhaa kwa hostels jioni, share through WhatsApp groups etc Kama unataka pesa, lazima ujitume. Finally, you don't need a lot of money to start these businesses or a place like a shop, all these you can operate them within the your hostels. Pole pole ndio mwendo.
