IS SAVING WORTHY IT? WHY IS OUR GENERATION INTO PIGA SHEREHE? There has been a generational shift that should be very worrying. The past generation (our parents and grandparents) created wealth without enjoying any bit of it. Any money that crossed their hands was immediately directed to a project. Sitting down and enjoying the fruit of their labour was almost “criminal”. For most, even just buying a car instead of land sounded evil. Most of them have died and continue dying miserably with lots of cash in their accounts (especially equity bank). Then their is our generation that mostly knows how to spend. Our parents and grandparents worked but didn’t train their children to do the same. Their children are left with resources with zero idea on how to handle wealth. Being spenders, they ensure that they consume as much.
Go to places like Ruaka and see drunkards that sold plots of land for millions and now have nothing left but waiting to die as they drink themselves silly.
Lessons;
- Look for wealth and enjoy it too. Doesn’t make a single sense to make money and not spend it!
- Train your kids to make money( Indians have beaten us on this life principle and no wonder they have generational wealth). An Indian daughter or son with a Masters Degree will always show up in their father’s business as a hands-on “employee”. They are in the store, sales or even logistics for their companies. An African child from a “rich” family won’t lift a finger, has no idea where goods are sourced, how and where they are sold, not mentioning the worth of their parents’ companies.
- Have a balanced life. The one that enjoys resources but puts aside a seed to grow to allow you maintain your lifestyle years to come.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2023
