There are two universal skills required by Human Resource Managers [Hard and Soft skills]
Hard skills are verifiable abilities learnt through training or practice. This is what degrees or other certificates are. However,there exists soft skills.
Soft skills are attributes you possess that enables you to interact/relate well with other individuals. It's simply,your professional personality.
Hard skills examples: Programming,Typing, Budgeting, Accounting etc.
Soft skills examples: Communication, teamwork, leadership, emotional intelligence etc.
It is sad that candidates only mention hard skills on their CV and Cover letters but forget the latter. Simply,a Human Resource Manager is not only concerned with the certificates you hold.
