Kenya sued at the East African Court of Justice in Tanzania over immunities granted to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation

The Kenyan petitioners, Sigi Waigumo Mwanzia and Gichohi Waweru, accused Kenya of violating the EAC Treaty and Articles of the Kenyan Constitution that guarantee access to information, public participation, transparency, and accountability. They also want an order issued compelling the State to provide details on how the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation qualified for and was granted immunities and privileges under the Privileges and Immunities Act and copies of the documents signed.
