Last week, Voice of Dagoretti CBO, with support from Amref Kenya, conducted a powerful skit presentation on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and the urgent need for safe houses within Nairobi County, as provided for under the Nairobi County SGBV Act 2021.

The activity highlighted a key proposal: the Nairobi County Government should establish safe houses in all 17 sub-counties across Nairobi.

This was not just a skit — it was a call to action. As a CBO, we have a responsibility to hold our county government accountable and ensure policies are not only written but fully implemented to protect survivors and strengthen our communities.

Let us give life to our policies. Let us move from promises to action. Together, we can create safer spaces for everyone.
