Last year we launched the uBoraBora fund with the aim of really understanding what works when it comes to improving literacy and numeracy programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa.
We know that small changes in how we teach can lead to 10x better results. We also know that the insights on how to do this well can often be locked away in loooooooooooooong reports and pdfs where important insights gather digital dust.
Now weβre setting up the uBoraBora Evidence Studio to change this and tell the stories of our brilliant grantees in the brilliant ways they deserve. Our goal is to shake up the traditional way of capturing impact and instead, weβre packaging up evidence in video shorts, podcasts, infographics and the other ways we know people love to learn.
We need talent thatβs close to the action and local to our grantees in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, Namibia, Sierra Leone and Ghana to turn their insights into stories, so that we can turn those stories into impact.

- Data visualisers, with a knack for infographics and telling stories in numbers
- Filmmakers and podcasters, who can breathe life into research with compelling video and audio storytelling
- Other kinds of creative talent, like designers, who excel at transforming complex ideas into intuitive, beautiful visuals and writers, who craft clear, engaging narratives that cut through the noise
