MATTER OVER MIND;

Sometimes In our day to day business in life we encounter things or go through stuff that discourage us or take away our will to continue in this journey called life.

Some could be things that are just beyond us like imperfections or other people's opinions of how things should be or look.

And as I did my study I discovered tht some things are "matter over mind". and if you don't mind then they don't matter"

..The story below creates and portrays a perfect picture of how this works;

There's this friend of mine I have known since childhood and as fate had it .. unfortunately(or so it seemed back then)he had a slightly bigger head than other kids(slightly ,i said) so because of this other kids used to bully him by calling him mbichwa or chwaki (which is kichwa in reverse)which translates to big head.

Mbichwa had a very difficult childhood since he was bullied and laughed at through primary school to highschool.

Then come college and on his reporting day mbichwa had a life changing revelation and on the first day of meeting his colleagues he introduced himself as so so but decided to add "but my friends do call me mbichwa..so if you want to be my friend call me mbichwa while pointing at his slightly big head.

Some were already pointing at his head and laughing ... ready to banter him with demeaning words as he spoke .. but they could not attack him anymore with the name mbichwa or chwaki as others called him Anymore... because he owned the name and as he did he also took away the "sting" from their attacks and mean names they wanted to unleash on him regarding his not so normal head.

And so from that day whenever he went he introduced himself as mbichwa ...and people loved him for his courage and smartness and his witty ways with words.. he became a crowd puller and everyone wanted to be part of his success story.

Mbichwa became a magnet that pulled people to him and people loved him and he even m-ceed and headlined some top events in his college for he had changed from the shy young boy into a students leader and mr.famous guy in the accounts school he attended by turning his weakest point into his greatest strength.

As we speak "mbichwa" or chwaki graduated from college and he is one of the most sought after political analyst and campaign team organizer in Kenya ,organising campaigns for some of the biggest political names in the eastern region of Kenya.

And he is known as mbichwa by everyone and he loves it... So as it turned out...the name that was once meant to shame and embarrass or finish him changed his fortunes for good and the stones that were thrown at him he used them to build a staircase to his destiny.

To conclude ; I personally think without the name "mbichwa" maybe our story hero would still be languishing somewhere in the sleepy village of shauri moyo where he hails from and he would never have discovered his full potential or how talented he was .

"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger"... . And some things are mind over matter, so if you don't mind then they don't matter at all! 😉

Mbichwa stopped minding and the insults didn't matter anymore ... Stop minding and it won't matter!
