Meshers, let's have an honest conversation. 🤔
Have you noticed a pattern?
Some people claim they're making hundreds of thousands or even millions every week from remote jobs. Yet every single day they're all over social media begging people to join their "exclusive training" for KSh 500, KSh 1,000 or KSh 2,000.
If remote work is paying them that well, why is there so much pressure to sell courses?
The truth is, legitimate remote work exists. Thousands of Kenyans earn genuine income online through freelancing, software development, design, writing, virtual assistance, customer support, and many other skills.
The problem is with those who sell dreams instead of skills. They make remote work sound like a guaranteed shortcut to quick riches, then their real business becomes collecting training fees from hopeful job seekers.
Before paying for any online class, ask yourself:
Can they show a real, verifiable track record? Are they teaching an actual marketable skill or just promising easy money? Do they make most of their income from remote work, or from selling courses about remote work?
Meshers, don't confuse marketing with proof. A flashy lifestyle, screenshots, and big income claims are not evidence.
Learn skills. Verify opportunities. Ask questions. And remember, if someone is constantly recruiting people into paid trainings instead of simply doing the work they claim is so profitable, that's a red flag worth paying attention to.
Not everyone teaching remote work is a scammer, but everyone asking for your money should be open to scrutiny. Stay sharp. #Kujengana
