Most people think AI will replace developers. It won’t. It will expose weak ones.
I recently reviewed a project that relied heavily on AI-generated code. At first glance, it looked efficient. Fast delivery, less manual effort. But once we dug deeper, the cracks were obvious. Poor structure, no clear architecture, inconsistent logic, and zero scalability.
The issue was not the AI. It was the lack of engineering judgment behind it.
AI accelerates execution. It does not replace thinking.
Here is what actually changes in this new landscape:
• Speed is no longer a differentiator Anyone can generate code quickly. What matters is whether that code is correct, secure, and scalable.
• Architecture becomes critical Without a solid system design, AI-generated components turn into technical debt.
• Debugging skills matter more When things break, you need to understand the system deeply. AI cannot reason through complex failures the way an experienced engineer can.
• Context is everything AI works best when guided by clear requirements, constraints, and real-world understanding.
• Ownership defines value Strong developers take responsibility for outcomes, not just outputs.
The developers who will dominate are not the ones who write the most code. They are the ones who understand systems, make informed decisions, and use AI as a tool, not a crutch.
At Teklini Technologies, AI is part of the workflow, but never the decision-maker. We design systems first, then use AI to accelerate execution without compromising quality.
If you are relying on AI without strengthening your fundamentals, you are not moving faster. You are accumulating risk.
Build with intention.
