Nairobi: City Of Opportunities
Tuesday, 1st September 2026
Good news to the Nairobia Youth as Nairobi City has been selected among 300 cities participating in the 2026–2027 Youth Climate Action Fund (YCAF), opening a new opportunity for young people to turn their climate ideas into action.
Through the programme, Nairobi is eligible for US$50,000 in grant funding, with at least eight eligible youth-led climate projects set to receive micro-grants ranging from US$1,000 to US$5,000.
If you are aged 15–24 and part of a youth-led organisation with a practical idea that can help address climate challenges in Nairobi, this opportunity is for you.
The public call for applications opens on 4 September 2026 and will remain open for six weeks, closing on 16 October 2026. More information on eligibility and how to apply will be shared when the call opens.
This is about giving Nairobi's young people the resources and platform to move from talking about climate change to leading solutions in their own communities
