The High Court in Nairobi has nullified KRA's hiring of 1,406 revenue service assistants after it found the recruitment unconstitutional as a bigger percentage of the slots were given to two communities in violation of the law on diversity, inclusion, and regional balance.

KRA has hence been barred from recruiting and appointing staff at all levels until ethnic diversity and regional balance policy is put in place which Justice William Musyoka said should be within 30 days.
