The Intersection of Software Engineering, IT, and Reading
Most people separate technical work from reading, creativity, and reflection. I donβt.
My day-to-day world sits in Software Engineering and IT, where everything is built on structure, logic, system design, debugging, APIs, and solving problems with precision. It is a space that demands clarity, discipline, and execution.
Outside that environment, I read consistently. Not only poetry, but a wide range of books across different fields. Technical material that sharpens engineering thinking, reflective writing that expands perspective, and collaborative literary work that highlights shared human experience. Each adds a different dimension to how I understand systems, people, and problem solving.
One piece that stands out is The Voices the World Ignore Poem, edited by Thokozani Ndinisa, a collaborative collection featuring writers from different parts of the world. Its central message, βWe have a voice to change the world,β reflects something I relate to deeply.
Because whether in literature or technology, the principle stays consistent. Impact comes from contribution, collaboration, and shared systems of thought.
In practice, this has shaped how I work and think:
Software Engineering and IT build structure, logic, and problem solving under constraints
Reading builds perspective, context, and the ability to think beyond a single system or viewpoint
Creativity and technical thinking are not separate paths, but interconnected layers of interpretation and design
This is why reading is not separate from my work. It is part of my growth as an engineer and as a builder of systems. Every book becomes input. Every idea becomes refinement. Every perspective improves how I design, troubleshoot, and architect solutions.
At the intersection of Software Engineering, IT, and continuous reading, everything converges into one point:
Better thinking produces better systems. Better systems produce better outcomes.
