Today I just want to talk about opportunities. It is said that opportunities are rare intact some say a good opportunity comes once in life Opportunities can be anywhere in our social life, in our spiritual life and even in our financial life. There are some people who gave missed big life changing opportunities that came their way maybe because they were not aware and maybe they didn't take the opportunity seriously. 3 examples.
A friend of mine in 2019 felt he really needed to get married and he went ahead and got a good girl and he started dating. That's 2021. From the word go the guy made his intentions clear that he wanted to settle down soonest. The girl on the other hand was the kind of of a lady who doesn't make up her own mind and relies on "friends" to advice her. She took the guy in rounds 2020 went down the drain nothing conclusive. 2021 started still same indecisive girl. I sat my friend down and told him to make up his mind if he really saw the future in that girl. He ultimately gave the girl ultimatum of 3 months to make up her mind and tell him the answer by September 2021. October came and the girl was still undecided. My friend moved on got another lady started dating in December. He wedded the girl on August 6 and guess what the girl who took him in circles "had started" getting serious February this year but she was too late. She attended the wedding with great disappointment in her eyes. I could see it
Scenario two I used to be in a former highschool mates WhatsApp group. As with most groups I had muted the group no notifications. A friend of mine who was my class prefect in form four whatsapped me that he needed 30 laptops for the company he works in. I didn't reply to his message and planned to do it later on in the day when less busy Guess what he posted the same in the group and got quick response and purchased 30 laptops each at 29000 He was willing to buy the laptops at 30k each his budget. I could source the laptops at 25000 and sell to him at 30,000 had I seen the message and made myself 150,000 SHS in less than 3 hours
A costly missed opportunity. Scenario 3 At one time Jesus Christ looked at Jerusalem and cried. And he said oh Jerusalem I wish you knew of the times of your visitation. Come on Jerusalem had an opportunity of embracing Christ and experiencing the power of God in him but they chose to see the son of Joseph the carpenter This missed an opportunity that even pained the son of God
Why do I tell you all this ? It's to challenge you to always grab an opportunity when u see one. When life throws you into the river, grab the opportunity to swim. Look for opportunities everywhere. I love Kenyan hawkers they are grabbers of opportunity. When it's hot during the day you will see them hawking "cold " water but wait few drops of rain come down...the guys selling water to cool off your thirst be the one selling gumboots and umbrellas.
When it's hot sell to us ice cream and light clothes When it's cold sell to us kahawa moto, duvet, sweaters , jackets, warm blankets, jumpers and the likes
Bottom line Grab that opportunity that comes on your way. And remember opportunities comes with risk but it's risk takers who change the world... Blessed evening blessed and precious people
