Update: Last week’s MESH Community Live Meeting 🙌

- CHALLENGES
MESHERS shared that challenges are a great way to earn money, share wisdom with each other on MESH and beyond, but there were concerns around rewards, selection, and payment delays.
What MESHers told us:
● Some MESHERS walisuggest rewards zikue KES 200 or 300 so that more people can win.
● Others felt KES 500 with fewer winners is still fair.
Tuli agree ku run a community poll so everyone can vote and decide which option works best.
On payment delays, MESHERS walisema:
● Kuna delays in payments after winners are announced.
● A suggestion ilikua made that the number used during MESH registration be used for payments, or that participants submit their M-Pesa number together with their challenge entry.
- DIRECT MESSAGE (DMs)
Tuli discuss how the missing DM feature has affected many of you.
What MESHers shared: DMs are important for:
● One-on-one follow-ups.
● Sharing confidential documents.
● Business negotiations and transactions.
Temporary solutions suggested by the community:
● Use the tagging feature to reach specific MESHERS.
● Continue conversations in the comments section while the DM feature is being rebuilt.
Update from Team MESH (shared by Antoni) during the Live Session:
On CHALLENGES: Challenges zilikua paused and redesigned because some bad actors walikua wana cheat the system na haikua fair to others.
● Text-based challenges were easy to game using duplicate accounts and fake engagement. Cheki hii update: MESHers💛 Quick update on challenges.
●Hii ndio reason tuli introduce video challenges for now as we work on improving the process and experience.
VIDEO CHALLENGE WINNERS WANAKUA SELECTED BASED ON:
● Quality of tips shared – Are they useful? Is something new being learned?
● Sound and video quality – Clear audio, visible face, no background noise, and original content only.
● Delivery – Short, energetic, and well presented.
● Team MESH selects the winners based on above criteria as always communicated in the challenge guidelines.
ON DMS:
● The DM feature is currently being rebuilt.
● Team MESH will update the community once it is ready.
WHAT'S NEXT? Based on the MESHers Live Session meeting, we will:
●Run polls to let the wider MESH community decide on the reward structure: KES 200 or 300 with more winners. Or KES 500 with the current number of winners
● Require participants to submit their M-Pesa number when submitting challenge entries to make payments faster and smoother.
