Explaining the change simply :

—Safaricom wants to stop charging for the amount of data (MB/GB) you use.

—Instead, it will charge you for how long you stay connected to the internet.

—This means even if you’re just reading an article or your apps sit idle, the clock keeps running.

—Heavy users who stream or download big files will benefit because they can use as much data as they want within that time.

—Light users who only check WhatsApp or email will lose out since they’ll still pay for the full time.
