It is a rare thing, when a business owner dies and the customers, staff and friends take to the media to euologise her as a trail blazer, a mentor, a friend and a boss who supported 2,500+ families through employment.

Monica Waithera was an entrepreneur who started off with only 2 staff members and one small hotel which later grew into a chain of hotels. Famed for her barbecued meat and grilled fish, Wakalucy is a household name in Mirema, Marurui, Kasarani, Kamakis, Kiambu and Juja.

She took in many destitute people and gave them a second chance in life through employment in her hotel chains. Her industriousness and business acumen should be documented as a business case study.
