You have 3 employees and you're not paying PAYE?
That alone may raise questions.
I recently attended an RWK webinar on KRA audit triggers, and one stood out:
PAYE variance.
Your accounts say salaries were KSh 10M.
Your PAYE returns say something else.
Your payroll says another thing.
And the bank payments don't agree either.
That's where problems start.
Your payroll should reconcile with your books.
Your books should reconcile with the bank.
Your tax returns should be supported by both.
The numbers should tell one story.
Don't wait for KRA to find the inconsistency.
Find it yourself first.
Founders, when was the last time you reconciled your payroll to your books?
