ABOUT THE UPDATE
1. Why is MESH moving to a new platform?
MESH ime-built a new platform ku-improve your experience: faster and lighter on data. The MESH team is securely moving all MESHERS’ accounts, data na content (posts, comments, articles, reels, opportunities) from the old platform to the new platform.
2. Is the link to the MESH website changing?
Nothing ina-change, you will continue ku-find MESH at the usual website address: https://mesh.life/ or by opening/downloading the mobile app on Playstore.
3. Do I need to download a new app?
Kama you already have the mobile app installed on your phone, you don’t have to download a new app. For the best experience tuna-recommend u-update your current app. Go to the Playstore, search for MESH and click update.
4. What will I still be able to do on MESH?
Utakua able to continue to do all the following:
• Ku-create posts on the newsfeed and view other MESHERS’ posts
• Watch Reels
• Read articles
• Discover and apply to opportunities (e.g. loan, gigs, smartphones and laptops on credit, surveys, challenges etc)
• Vote and comment on posts, reels and articles
• See your existing connections
• Keep you and MESH safe: report a post or comment, report a user, block a user.
• Log in, reset your password, log out, delete your account (but we hope you don’t do that!), create an account or browse as a guest
• See your profile
• See and update your settings & privacy
• Receive notifications
5. What features will NOT be available for a while?
Some features zitakua turned off while we are building them back better: • Networking: send/receive NEW connection requests (remember you keep your existing connections; you just cannot make new ones for a little while!) • DMs: you will lose all your existing DMs and you won’t be able to send/receive new DMs for a while. • Groups • Badges • Search • Tag another user in a post or comment • Share You will see a message “coming soon” when you click on any of these features.
6. How long will it take for these features to come back?
We cannot confirm when exactly zitakua-back. Imagine renovating your house with a small team, if you want to do it well it takes some time. Tuta-work very hard Ku-make sure they come back as quickly as possible, one by one, and when they are back, they will be soooo much better, you will not regret it!
7. Are there any changes to how much data (MB) the MESH app is using?

YOUR ACCOUNT AND DATA
8. What happens to the account I had created on MESH?
Your account na all your personal data itakua automatically moved to the new platform. This means uta-continue logging in using the same email address as before. The only thing uta-need ku-do is reset your password on your very first login. This is because passwords cannot be moved.
9. When do I reset my password?
After the move on July 14th, MESH itaku-ask ku-reset your password via email, sms or notification. Keep an eye out.
10. How do I reset my password?
When you log in for the first time after July 14th, uta-get a message to reset and itaku-guide you through. Kama uli-miss this message, you can do it on your own at any time. Watch David do it in this short video
Or follow the steps below: Step 1: Open MESH, click login Step 2: Click forgot password Step 3: Enter you email (used to create your MESH account) and click continue. Step 4: Check your email for a 4-digit code Step 5: Enter the code and press verify (Use copy & paste function) Step 6: Enter your new password (Make sure to note it down so as not to forget) Step 7: Enjoy your new MESH experience.
11. How can I receive the password reset code if I cannot access my email?
Kama you have lost access to your email, team yetu may be able to help you, contact MESH on WhatsApp 0114 799 684 ama email at help@mesh.life and our team will ask you a few questions to verify you na your account. Tuta do our best to help you recover your account, but we cannot guarantee we will be able to verify you. Hii process will take a minimum of 48 hours, tuna-request ukue patient.
12. What happens to my profile?
The following profile information zita-remain: your first name, last name, age, location (county/town), gender, story, profile photo, banner images. The following profile information zita-disappear while we renovate MESH: your biz, interests, skills and volunteering work. Don’t worry, you will be able to complete your full profile again very soon!
13. What happened to my username and profile photo?
Ni possible that kama uli-change username na profile photo, zitarudi back to the old versions during relaunch. Unaweza change these to the new ones again on your own in your profile settings. Sorry for the inconvenience
14. How does MESH ensure that my personal data is securely moved?
Your data security ni our top priority. Tume- implement robust measures ku-ensure that your personal data is securely transferred and protected throughout this move. All your information will remain confidential and secure.
15. What happens to my privacy settings?
After the move, privacy settings yako zitakua reset to default settings, i.e. this means everyone on the platform can see your first and last name (mandatory), profile photo, banner images, posts, story, location, gender, age, connections. Usi-worry, after the move, you can visit your Settings & privacy ku-reset your privacy preferences. Just click on your avatar on the top of the newsfeed to open your account panel, click “Settings & privacy”, and then click “Account privacy”.
While you can reset your privacy preferences, your posts and profile picture will now by default be visible to everyone on the platform and this cannot be reset while MESH is under renovation. If you are not comfortable with this, you can delete any post you had created by clicking on the 3-dot menu of the post you wish to delete. All your posts are accessible from your profile page. You can also remove your profile picture and keep it empty.
16. What happens to my blocked users?
Kama ulikua ume-block any user(s), you will need to block them again.
For instance, Kama ulikua ume-block any of your existing connections, they will be back in your connection list, but you can immediately go na uwa- block again. Just go to your connection list, find the person, open their profile, and click on the 3-dot menu at the top right corner and click “block user”.
Once ume-block a user, wata-appear on your list of Blocked accounts inside “Settings & privacy” and you can unblock any user you wish to unblock.
17. Can I delete my account?
We don’t want to see you go, but of course you uko na-right ku-decide ku-delete your account and all its associated data at any time, by visiting your Settings & privacy and clicking on the tab “delete account”.
CONNECTING AND DM
18. What happens to Networking, and will I lose my connections?
Don’t worry, uta-keep your existing connections on your profile page. You just won’t be able to send or receive new connection requests for a little while, and you will lose any pending connection requests that you had not accepted. Tips: if you need to send or accept any connection request while it’s still possible, do it before the move!
19. Where can I find my existing connections?
Unaweza-check list of existing connections on your profile page. Ku-access your profile page, click on your avatar, on the top left corner of the homepage, then click “your profile” and your profile page will open. Utacheki how many connections you have just below your location / age / gender, click on that link to see the full list of your existing connections.
20. What happens to DMs?
Unfortunately, ina-mean you will lose all your existing messages and hakuna a way inside MESH to automatically back up your messages. Tips: if you have some important information in your existing DMs, like the phone number of one of your connections, remember to save that information in your phone before your DMs disappear. Or if you want to continue to privately message any of your connections outside of MESH (for instance on WhatsApp), exchange your contact details now before you can no longer privately message each other inside MESH!
21. How will I communicate with a MESHER if I cannot send them a DM?
To continue ku-communicate with other MESHERS inside MESH: speak to them by commenting on their post. If you are comfortable, you can share your phone number with another MESHER on a post or comment and continue your private conversation outside of MESH.
GROUPS AND NETWORKING
22. What happens to open groups?
Groups will be turned off while we improve this feature.
For open groups, you will continue to be able to see all past posts from the main newsfeed but you won’t be able to filter by group.
23. I am part of the “Women In Biz” closed group, what is happening to this group
The Women In Biz Group won’t be available for some time😔but don’t worry, it will be back soon and it will better. Tawi atakua on standby to support and reach out in case of anything!
24. I am part of the “Men's Mental Health” closed group, what is happening to this group?
Men’s Mental health group haitakua available for some time😔 but don't worry it will be back soon. Tutaendelea ku-share Mental health content in the feed and invite you to events whenever we plan one. Your Host Antoni will continue to support you.
25. What happens to badges for MESHERS?

27. How do I recognize MESH team members?
Official MESH team members wako na small red MESH badge next to their name.
POSTING, PROMOTING YOUR BIZ & SELLING
28. Where can I post on the newsfeed?
Tuko na new floating button to create posts on the newsfeed. Iko at the bottom right of your screen.
Posts ziko limited to 4000 characters, unaweza upload up to 4 images and paste links/URLs. All posts will appear on the newsfeed.
29. What images can I upload on MESH, what size/quality?
Unaweza ku-upload images that are up to 2MB and the app compresses your image to maximise performance.
30. Can I upload videos with the new app update?
You still cannot upload videos on MESH, but team yetu is cooking something in the coming months, so be ready!
31. Where do I find opportunities, gigs and loans?
Tume-create a new opportunity centre at the top of the newsfeed, so unaweza easily discover any gigs, loans, challenges and other opportunities. If it’s not there, it means there are no live opportunity currently on MESH.
32. How will I contact MESH for support?
